TOEFL Test Results & Score

The TOEFL iBT gives students five scores: four section scores for Reading, Listening, Writing, and Speaking, as well as a total score. Each part is rated on a scale of 0 to 30. The sum of the four-segment scores is the overall score. The overall score range could be ranging from 0 to 120. It is good for a period of two years. The scoring mechanism for each section of the TOEFL varies slightly. Individual graders, not computers, will grade the speaking and writing components.

  • On the speaking section, each response is graded on a scale of 0 to 4, with 4 being the highest score, based on how well you answered the issue, used the language, communicated your answer clearly and intelligibly, and develop your response. This total score is based on a scale of 0 to 30.
  • Each writing response is graded by two people and given a score ranging from 0 to 5, with 5 being the best. If the graders' scores differ by two or more points, the score is decided by a third-grader. The total score is also on a scale of 0 to 30.

15 days after the test, the final score report should be available online. It will show you not only your total score but also your individual part results. Even if you took the test and cancelled your scores, you can only take the TOEFL iBT test once every seven days.

How to Send TOEFL Scores to Universities and TOEFL Additional Score Reporting?

When applying to universities in the US, sending the TOEFL scores to universities is essential. Students who have a native language other than English may be asked to provide scores of their Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). To send TOEFL scores to universities, you need to report the additional score. Here you can find the steps to send TOEFL Exam scores to universities.

Order Online: By paying an extra fee, test takers can send Additional Score Reports online. By purchasing the TOEFL Value Pack premium, students may save money on sending five Additional Score Reports. ETS has more value bundles available for students to buy and receive significant discounts when sending their scores to colleges/universities. Typically, the fee for each report is $20 (USD), which can be paid by debit, credit, e-check, or Paypal. After the organisation receives your request, your scores will be emailed to you within 3-5 business days.

Order by Fax: You must complete the 'TOEFL iBT Additional Score Report Request Form,' available on the ETS website. Fax the form to 1-610-290-8972 and your registration information and payment information (debit or credit card). If the fax fails or you need to re-send the same condition due to technical difficulties, write 'DUPLICATE' in capital letters on the form itself to avoid double charges on your debit or credit card.

Mail Orders: You must fill out the same form for postal orders: 'TOEFL iBT Additional Score Report Request Form.' Send the state, along with your payment details (debit or credit card), to the address below:

Is 80 a good TOEFL Score?

To be accepted into a programme, most colleges have a minimum threshold score that you must meet. This means that a good TOEFL score is determined by what you require—if your school demands a minimum score of 80 on the iBT TOEFL, a score of 80 or 81 would be considered a good iBT TOEFL score.

What is the average TOEFL Score?

A TOEFL score of 90 is considered average. It could range from 85 to 95. A TOEFL score of over 100 is regarded as good.

What is the TOEFL maximum score?

In the end, the maximum TOEFL score is 120 points. As the maximum score for each section is 30 points, the best possible score must be obtained in all the different tests.
